9-13-30 Title of Liberty, Crosses & Crazyness

Well this week was an awesome one.
So on Thursday, we got a call from the ZL's and they asked us to inspire our district for more baptismal dates. So we prayed and felt the strong impression that we should study Moroni of old. We did and i got the prompting that we should make a Title of Liberty. So we called the ZL's and they liked the idea. So we found the old jacket of an apostate elder who is home now. We rent it and fastened it upon the end of a stick. We then visited all the members in our district and then the zone. We committed everybody to get 2 more baptismal dates by the end of the week. Everybody signed the jacket and the fire was started again. We now have 4 dates.

The cool part is how we got the last 2. We were walking at like 8:15 at night and we had literally 45 min to set 1 more date. We passed this trailer. And then I just stopped and turned and started walking towards it. My companion just followed. I knocked and man opened the door. I told him we had a very important message that he and his family needed to hear. We told them of the restoration of the church and that the priesthood was restored and that they needed to get baptized. They agreed and now there dates are November 26th. They are pretty solid.

So The reason this is called Crosses is because on exchanges with Elder Viana (Pictured) we went to a garage sale because the lady was Hispanic. She handed me a rosary necklass. Like the one that Dominique Torretto wears on fast 5. It is really cool. It is black and silver. She told me I could keep it and I told her no, but she insisted. Dont worry I will send it home. She gave Elder Viana a joke book.

Well I think that is all.
I love you all, keep up the good work.

9-23-13 Haawwwt Sauce!!!

Alright Alright Alright,

Hey everybody, This is your Favorite Missionary Elder Rowley. I want to publicly apologize for not writing more in my emails. My new goal is too write more. So here is goes.

So last P-Day I collided with 2 other missionaries, while heading a soccer ball in mid air, and tore my shoulder up really bad. But it is recovering well. Dont worry, I still scored.

This week was really good, we found LOTS of new investigators. We have invited 4 people in the last 5 days to be baptized. They all said no, except for 1. His name is Johnny. He is 17 and wrestles and plays soccer. He is way cool. He wants his friend to baptize him, but his friend lives in Massachusetts and does not return for like 3 months so we set the date for January 15th. We are trying to work with him and move it up sooner.

So I had a pretty interesting day yesterday. The missionaries in the Mesa Branch (me included) went to branch council to try to fire up a lifeless branch towards missionary and Member relations. Long story short, it turned into a fight. The funny part was, i dont know spanish well enough to even know what was going on. But one sister was crying after and it just was horrible I guess. But we walked with the stake president and things are going to get hammered out.

So the reason this is called hot sauce is because last night I had a really bad experience with Tapatio. So this nice Mexican man gives me chips right? And it was late and i was hungry, so i accepted them. He asked if I wanted salsa too. I said sure. He then proceeds to get this wholw HUGE bottle of Tapitio, and he dumps like at least a 1/4 cup all over my chips. They were soaked. And the worst part is i had to be polite and eat them. So with my mouth on fire, I ate the chips. Regardless to say, I no longer really like Tapatio.

Love,

Elder Rowley

9 September, 2013 Never Look Back?!?!?

Well, this week was pretty stereotypical, I dont really have much to say.
We got 19 lessons.
Actually, JK. So when I was younger, I went streaking at the homecoming football game with a individual named Remington Morgan. This week Elder Vincent and I were talking to a ward mission leader in Ucon, Idaho. (pause, look it up on google earth, it is the tiniest little town out there.) He asked were I was from. I told him Payson, Utah. He then asked if I knew any Morgans in Santaquin. I said no. ( Not remembering Remington at that moment.) So he started naming off there first names trying to jog my memory. Remington's name came up. My face turned white and I told him i knew a Remington. He asked me how. I have no freaking idea why i said this, but i mumbled that I went streaking with him. Then i quickly added that he was a friend. The ward mission leader and my companion started busting up laughing. I was so red. Then to make matters worse, he called Remington's parents. I said hi over speakerphone and Remington's mom commented "congratulations, you actually made it on a mission." Regardless to say, my Companion just laughed at me the whole way home. Sins haunt you forever, even in Ucon Idaho. Moral of the story.

That was the highlight of this week.

Well I love you all and i got to go.

2 September, 2013 - Brian and Alex Make a Covenant with Christ

So this week was pretty good. We baptized 2 more boys named Brian and Alex. And on the 21st April and Natalie are going to be Baptized as well.

So my companion and I now hold the record for number of lessons in 1 day. We got 8. That is knarly nuts (especially for Idaho).

The power of Satan is real. We have seen his influence all over. One BIG problem we are running into is "I dont think it matters what church we go to. They are all the same" And then we explain about the Priesthood and they still dont get it. But ya know what. When Elder Vincent and Elder Rowley wake up, Satan is scared. He dreads when we wake and go to work. But we keep ourselves humble and always remember the words of Ammon. Alma 26:12.

Our other motto is from Alma 56:17
And now they were determined to conquer in this place or die; therefore you may well suppose that this little force which I brought with me, yea, those sons of mine, gave them great hopes and much joy.
Man, I love being a missionary. I love the people and I never thought I would say this, but I love Idaho.

The Church is true the book is blue, Moronis on the ball. I LVOE YOU ALL.
